When will a cold weather payment be paid?
If you’re eligible for a Cold Weather Payment, you’ll be paid automatically after each 7 day period of cold weather. You should receive your payment within 14 working days.
What if I haven't received a Cold Weather Payment?
Contact your pension centre or Jobcentre Plus office if you think you should have received a Cold Weather Payment but didn't. If you receive Universal Credit, contact the Universal Credit helpline.
Is your area eligible for a cold weather payment?
Check if your area is due a Cold Weather Payment: https://coldweatherpayments.dwp.gov.uk/
Are you Eligible for a cold weather payment?
You must meet all of the eligibility criteria for the qualifying benefit that you receive.
You may get Cold Weather Payments if you’re getting:
You’ll usually get Cold Weather Payments if you get Pension Credit.
Income Support and income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
You’ll usually get Cold Weather Payments if you get Income Support or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance and have any of the following:
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
You’ll usually get Cold Weather Payments if you get income-related ESA and have any of the following:
You’ll usually get Cold Weather Payments if you get Universal Credit, you’re not employed or self-employed and one of the following apply:
You’ll also be eligible if you have a disabled child amount in your claim, whether you are employed or not.
