New DWP statistics show that 78 per cent of reassessment disability living allowance (DLA) reconsiderations also result in no change
84 per cent of personal independence payment (PIP) new claim mandatory reconsiderations result in no change to the award, according to DWP statistics published today.
The new figures - that cover the period April 2013 to January 2018 - show that of the total 705,000 mandatory reconsiderations for normal rules PIP claims cleared by the end of January 2018 (around 370,000 new claims and 336,000 reassessed DLA claims) just 131,000 resulted in a new decision changing the award.
